September….another one down the drain. Life works in mysterious ways. It can play tricks on you, fool you, surprise you, and smack you in the face. In my case, everything moves so god damned fast that my chances to enjoy it are seldom. I sometime regret that I haven't been able to live like a normal person for forever, but I think that I'd go absolutely bananas if I did. And September was a pretty normal month. But I didn't go bananas.

It started at The Funny Farm in Broadalbin, NY, and let me tell you, this is a killer room. I had so much fun on their stage… I can't wait to return. Robin and Peter Fields are the proprietors, and they couldn't have been nicer. This club is a blast.

The following week I was in a multi million dollar auditorium in Connecticut, performing for 12 old people. No middle ground in this business….it's great or it can suck.

I spent the following day in my home town of Rockland, for the wedding of my stepbrother Eric, and his lovely new bride, Marilyn. I was completely fatigued from all the driving, but still remarkably found the energy to get drunk with my sister and hit the town. I was able to see some old friends, so it was a treat. I even ran into an old high school flame, Krista, and she was sweet enough to come see me the following week for my birthday, and brought me cookies. Bumper stickers don't lie, Girls do kick ass.

I spent my birthday doing University of Maine Orono, with my old chap Dave Russo, and that was about it. The show was great, though. Krista and I attempted to hit the town…no go. Apparently Orono sucks. I could have never guessed.

I had my first showcase at the Comedy Connection! It was great. Extra thanks to all the people who were nice enough come out and support me. The show was a success, thanks to everybody! I cant thank you enough! Especially Celeste, you are the best…thanks for bringing the whole gang! And also, extra special thanks to my friend Shawn “Facemelter” Jeffery for bringing me on WCYY to promote the show. Shawn just rules. I have great friends, and it showed that night. I'll be doing another one real soon, and I'll let you know. Send me an email to get on my mailing list, and I'll keep you up to date. (I wont spam you, promise.)

The remainder of September was really cool. I'm a year older and smarter, I can only hope that this year will be as good as the last one! If I stay on course, it sure as hell will. Thanks to everybody for the support with the comedy and my articles….it's been overwhelming. Apparantley I struck a chord with a lot of people on the last couple of FACE columns.

Tirade Magazine is making it's premiere next week! That's right…these should be available nationwide…and my article “Black out Beautiful” is one of the featured pieces! Kickass!

And, I'm playing music again. I started jamming with friends Zach and Jasper, who previously played in some great Portland bands Figurehead, and Cherub. I was always a fan of what they did…so this should be fun. Whatever existing free time I had is now gone again, but that's the breaks. You're on this planet once, and TV is overrated. Go live.
